I was looking at the wind-records site, and noticed that the prominent picture in the upper left corner of the page www.wind-records.com.tw/shop/english/product/p_set.asp?key1=A&key2=AX02 is not showing a qin, as far as I can tell; it looks like a zheng. Is that what it looks like to you? Why would they have used this picture on a page that is entirely about qin? (unless, of course, it is a qin, at which point I would quote an old Saturday Night Live character -- Rosanne Rosanna-dana -- and say, "Oh! That's different. Never mind). Andrew

Hello Andrew, That looks like a guzheng to me. I don't think it is meant to be confusing. It appears to be graphic common to all of the Traditional Music sections. Qin and zheng confusion does happen. Over the weekend I googled on guzheng and found a site with samples of guzheng recordings: people.smu.edu/lzhu/guzheng/guzheng.html. I had to laugh at one sample (Guang Ling San) that is obviously a guqin. There may be others, since I did not check all of the samples. Best wishes, David
