I'm practising the dizi again in preparation for on-line dizi tuition.
All my C dizis including a one piece C DXH dizi (given to me) are too sharp. I'll being playing for myself and not in an ensemble and so I guess it doesn't matter too much but when I hear 'Trip to Gusu' on YT all the dizis are noticeably more mellow. My previous teacher and I noticed it too.
Even my adjustable ones, fully extended are too sharp.
Does anyone have any ideas. I'd be really loathed to buy yet another C dizi.

Hello Ed,
It is possible to change the pitch of a dizi, or any flute, by the position you have it on your mouth, and the angle of the air stream from your lips. You might experiment different blowing angles, such as more directly into the embouchure hole.
Best wishes,
David

Thanks David,
I don't get any comments that my dizis in other keys are too sharp just the C. I'll try your suggestion and thanks. Merry Xmas.
