Hi need help with fingering chart fist of all I have no music experience. So I have a d key Dizi and have learnt this notation all fingers down 5 four down 6 four down 7 three down 1 two three and so I learnt than no problem played my first few tunes (titanic tune 1111 71 etc)sounds not bad then I tried to play painted heart (bit advanced for me but love tune) sounds all wrong so I searched The web for solutions and got different basic fingering charts for same Dizi , key can anyone please explain me why. For example another fingering chart shows for basic d key all down 2 ! five down 3 first four and last one down 4 three down 5 two down 6 one down 7. I have also seen charts with half hole covered with I sort of get for sharp or flat notes so do I have to learn both for different tunes maybe one is wrong I am totally confused or should I concentrate on learning and reading western type music hope you can help because I've sort of hit brick wall after all hard work playing note correctly and learning first fingering chart. Is it possible western songs and Chinese type music jianpu don't match I do understand different octave is different fingering thank in advance of any help

A dizi (or xiao) in the key of D has the lowest note A, the 5 in jianpu notation. The tonic note D is played with the 3 LH fingers down.
You can play in several other keys on any dizi; the most common other keys on a D dizi are A, C, and G, with F and Bb also being used at times.
This means another note than D is considered "1" and the scale is adjusted - hence the need for half holes or forked fingerings.
Any Western song can be notated in jianpu, and vice-versa, so the notation should not be an issue in and of itself.
