Hello guys, I'm getting into these new world of dizi and music, so I bought a Dizi key D and I'm gonna learn it by myself. Though my researches (youtube, this forum, and some recommend websites that I get from this forum), I got some questions. 1- I found 1 finger chart and I would like to know if it is correct... dizi_D_Key.pdf (316.96 KB) 2-If the finger chart is correct, does my note sequence is correct? 5(dot below)- A3 6(dot below)- B3 7(dot below)- C#3 1- D4 - Do 2- E4 - Re 3- F#4 - Mi 4- G4 - Fa 5- A4 - Sol 6- B4 - La 7- C#4 -Ti 1(dot above)- D5 2(dot above)- E5 3(dot above)- F#5 4(dot above)- G5 5(dot above)- A5 6(dot above)- B5 7(dot above)- C#5 1(2 dot above)- D6 Where the 4's are the normal octave, 5's high octaves, and 3's lower octaves? 3- I downloaded a tuner which I will use it to see if my pitch is sounded correctly(that's why i ask the questions above). When I open the app, it shows A4 and I can calib the Hz. How many Hz should I put to show the exactly pitch of my dizi (key D)? 4-And do you know and program or website to create a jianpu and get music background sound? Because I saw that we can transform a music sheet in jianpu notation by comparing them. Sry for my long post!!!

1- I found 1 finger chart and I would like to know if it is correct... Yes it is for a dizi in D and for the key of D. You can play in other keys on a D dizi. Yes it is correct, it is a major scale in D. The 3's, 4's, and 5's refer to the specific pitch of any note you play. A3 is one octave below A4 and A5 is an octave above that. Don't confuse those numbers with the jianpu notation numbers. To play with standard instruments tune to the international standard A440. So A's are 110, 220, 440, 880 frequencies. However not all Chinese music is at A440, nor are all my dizi tuned to A440. I have some nice playing flutes that are higher or lower than A440, but they will not be in tune with standard tuning.

Thanks a lot dawei!! You helped me a lot!! About the tuner, I was thinking on using it like a support to see if I am playing the note in the exactly pitch... What do you recommend to use as a support?

Using a tuner is a great resource - but nothing beats training your ear to hear the pitches correctly.
