Here is a link to my eBay listing. It is a C Hulusi with 2 drone pipes, and an English instructional book by Pat Missin. Click Here

Hi Fahn
It's a pity you're selling your hulusi. It's a lot easier to play than you think. There is available scores and backing music for the more advanced. The 'signature' hulusi tune 'Phoenix Bamboo under the Moonlight' is also the easiest to play. How helpful was the instructional book by Pat Missin?

And of all pitches, it is a C pitched Sad that in Taiwan there is also a ocarina craze. The gourd is supposed to be an iconic symbol in Asian culture, but Link in the Legend of Zelda played the ocarina instead of other instruments, partially contributing to this craze.

I've got some ceramic ocarinas which sound good and are excellent value. I taught myself Bob Dylan's 'Blowing in the Wind' , Ave Maria and Danny Boy. Excellent to play around with on the beach, though I haven't had that opportunity.
I wonder if we will ever hear from fahn again?...

It is fun and easy to play, but I lost my job 4 months ago, and I'm having to sell some things so I can have some money over the holidays. The Pat Missin book is really helpful, too. I like the hulusi, but I prefer my ocarina. It's a shame that I'm having to sell it, I was looking forward to learning to play it well.

I am wanting to get a Bull Bass C Double ocarina myself, but I doubt I'll get it anytime soon. I have actually been checking this post for several days but never saw any replies. Anyway, I also want to try out the xun someday, and get a G or F hulusi.

I know how you feel about losing your job I'm afraid. Employment rights aren't what they were like 20 years ago.
The basic 6 hole ocarina is very easy to play unlike the 12 hole one. I've got a xun lying around on top of the piano but I haven't used it much. There is more music written for the F key hulusi than the G key.

My boss never even paid me my last paycheck and then moved out of state I can play 4, 5, 6, 10, 11, and 12 holed ocarinas, although the one I have my eye on right now is a hefty 18 holed beast. Picture HereI noticed that most xun seem to be 8-holed, so I wonder what scale they follow. And that's good about the F hulusi, because I prefer lower keyed instruments anyway. There's even a contrabass ocarina on eBay right now, it's watermelon sized!
