Today is the Ghost Festival, the day when the gates of Hades open and all the ghosts pay a visit to the living. Because the ghosts are hungry and also need currency to purchase stuff, a lot of people (as well as companies) have been making offerings, burning ghost money and incense joss sticks, and lighting firecrackers. Effectively there is a lot of noise and air pollution being generated. Enclosed is a picture of offerings generated by employees of a restaurant.
