I will start by apologizing if this question is a waste of your time. I am slightly confused when it comes to notation. With a lot of sources that i am researching they do not seem explain jianzipu in any great detail.
My question would be does the notation show the pitch of the note to be played or does it just give the position to where the note is played eg. 10th Hui?
If anyone could direct me to some beginner sources i would be ever so happy.
Please forgive me if this is all wrong. I am interested in the qin.
Thank you in advance
Tim

Qin notation does not show notes but positions. www.tcfb.com/guqin/Judy Chang's site; notation symbols with pictures and explanations will get you started.
