Gui zhi qia qi is VERY HARD to do!!
I left my lesson yesterday with puss/blood on my qin and a flap of skin wafting about on my finger, after playing the gui zhi position in Pu an zhuo.
Apparently one can also do a gui zhi on the finger nail as well! I'll have to do that now as my finger is a mess.

It is hard, but drawing blood is OTT. Slowly and gently next time.

I too had a question concerning guizhi and qiaqi not all that long ago, remember? Anyway I think I am getting the hang of it without needing any blood. Surely no blood's needed?

Blood means you're pushing yourself too hard. It is true that you need to brutalize your flesh a little to make it tougher. But bleeding is counterproductive. An unburst blister is the absolute limit of how far you should go before stopping. Then allow it days to heal and thicken into a callus.

Yeah I have been unable to Gui Zhi since then.
Started using the nail in the meantime. I can realy feel my gui zhi finger getting stronger, which is what i need I think.
