I'm not doing any formal performances. Last year's Chinese Association bash was great, but the performance part of it turned into a very intricately produced two hour show in the college's auditorium. I think that everyone, including the organizer (who did an outstanding job) just didn't want to do that again. So we're having our "culture fair" with lots of booths and tables and snacks, and a fashion show in a large room. I'll be there with my yangqing playing friend at his calligraphy table, cranking out the tunes in small, informal sets.
I am, however, having a bao shui jiao party at my house this Saturday and inviting a bunch of musicians, including a friend who sings jingju. He emailed a couple of his favorite mp3 tunes to me and I'm going to try and learn them on my jinghu before Saturday night. Lots of music, shui jiao, and several bottles of bai jiu specially brought in. Fun.

Carlos, I was wondering...... (sorry for ignorant question). Is the Chinese Assoc. like a Chinese Cultural center? If so do they have lessons for instruments? Thanks Lisa
