Hey all: I just performed with my friend Zhou Ping and his wife Xiao Ping as the group "Dragonwind' (Longfeng - I thought that would be a catchy name to get people interested in Chinese music.) I managed to record it fairly well with a minidisk recorder, and have most of the tunes here: eaglelake1.org/chinesemusic.htmlPlease ignore the obvious erhu mistakes! I produced a live radio show from the festival the day before , and played a huge concert with my irish band the night before. I didn't have all my brain cells operative . However, it gives a good idea of what we're doing with yangqing, dizi, muyu, and erhus. Carlos

Very cool, Carlos! The tune Mu Min could sound a little Irish with the right instrumentation. The reel back-beat is already there. <g>
Boy, you take Purple Bamboo at a fast clip! I prefer it a little slower, but maybe that is because I can't handle it that fast.
It sounds like you had a lot of fun! My compliments.
Best wishes,
David

Hey all: I've now got a picture on the website of our performance Sunday. Not exactly a movie, but if you squint your eyes and use your imagination while listening to the mp3 files you can picture us playing. eaglelake1.org/chinesemusic.htmlCarlos
