I recently got interested in the traditional lunar calendar. I couldn't find one in the format I wanted on the Internet (all I could find were Gregorian calendars with Chinese holidays added), so I made my own. I was fascinated to learn that the current year contains a leap month to make everything come out even. Also, I was a little startled to realize, when I looked at the finished calendar, that "days of the week" is strictly a western concept.
This has already helped me, as I am currently reading "A Dream of Red Mansions." With my new calendar, I was able to understand the book's many references to the seasonal nodes in the old calendar.
I've posted the calendar as a series of jpeg images on my Flickr page (http://www.flickr.com/photos/dsouthwood/). If you would like the calendar as a Microsoft Word document, email me at dms1@cox.net and I'll send it to you as an attachment.
Please, please tell me if you detect any errors in the calendar.

Thanks! And thanks for the reference to "Dream of the Red Chamber." I have a copy that was given to me by my first year Chinese small-group tutor, in 1978, when I was 24. She was the same age as I and beautiful, and although she was married I fancied she had a crush on me. I was certainly in love with her! Her inside-cover inscription (translated):
"Carlos: The Dream of the Red Chamber is a beautiful love story. I hope you will treasure it."
I'll start reading it again, and keep my ears tuned to the lunar calendar stuff this time.
Carlos
