Hey all:
I'm visiting San Diego for a short family vacation. Went sailing today - sure beats the ice and snow in my hometown!
One thing on my visit list, which I accomplished today, was meeting Dennis Southwood, a contributing forum member. At my request, he suggested a SUPERB dimsum restaurant, and over excellent food we chatted about Chinese culture and music, language learning, and of course gossiped a great deal about the forum. My two teenage kids did nothing to embarass me, and they apparently impressed Dennis.
Dennis also showed me a very nice erhu he has acquired, and it sounds terrific. Nice bowing technique, and coming from a guzheng player at that, I must say.
Now I'm looking forward to my next trip to China. Maybe we can have a big sit-down front-feet-in-the-trough with our Asian members.

That sounds great. I haven't been to SD since 03. Hope you have a great time.

Travelling to China next Spring (2008) may actually be a very good time for me. Daughter will be in college then, and son will be third year high school. Much less hands-on parenting (hopefully) by that time and I can get away for a month. I could visit my good friends in Taiwan, too.
Let's keep talking about it. The time will go by like a 12-Girls'-Band version of Sai Ma on cocaine.

Travelling to China next Spring (2008) may actually be a very good time for me. I am so jealous! Is that as fast as an Irish music session? Best wishes, David

Is that as fast as an Irish music session? Best wishes, David Depends entirely on how much coffee I've had. Carlos
