no, you can buy 0 region dvd players - i have one from sinagpore and the one in my place in shanghai is 0 region, otherwise how does and english man like myself enjoy british comedies overseas (the thought does not bare thinking about!!!!!!) Not legally .. at least not in the US. One of the main reasons they are not popular in the US. Same reason region 0 disks are so controversial. There is even talk about requiring home users to purchase a region license to be able to burn home videos. Eventually you will have to beg/pay someone else everytime you want to watch a movie you bought. think im kidding check out some of the the supposed DRM on blu-ray. www.tgdaily.com/2005/08/10/blu/index.htmlI've even read that the player may eventually require an internet connection so it can call home and make sure you are properly authorized to watch a particular movie. sorry to turn this into an anti-drm rant.

Well thats why Hollywood is EVIL but i supose thats for another section on this forum or even another forum......
But imagine you are one of the many people that is not based in one country, or you live on the border of a few regions - which ever why you think this, rule does not benefit the end user , only causes misery and expense or endless days without little briton or blackadder or league of gentlemen etc.....
So everyone - dont let blue ray succeed!!!
