Since the question of "which rosin to buy?" keeps on popping up, I thought I'd start a thread where people can post their favorite rosin so others can benefit.
I use Pierre Guillaume (I think it's spelled that way)

I use whatever is in my case. My son plays violin and viola, and has a fiddle we made together, and I have a fiddle, so there is lots of rosin floating around the house, in cases, in drawers, next to the various music stands we have around, etc.
In my lesson with Warren Chang recently (last week) I asked him about frequency of rosining, and he said that when he practices two hours a day he rosins every day, and if I'm practicing five hours a week it should be at least every week. If I'm putting it on that much then I don't need to saturate the bow, just touch it up - but there should be sufficient grip when I play.

I tend to rosin on an "as needed" basis.

i use ... the only available here . super sensitive brand light or dark.. i have read that light is good for hot weather and dark good for cold/normal room temp. i'm still not sure which i like more. This time of year the room temp fluctuates too much (60-80F not unusual in a 24 hr period)to get a good feel of which works best for me.
