The time has finally come, I have found an erhu teacher in the Netherlands. I found out that I really need a teacher for the first period. Questions like, how do I hold the erhu properly? how do I use the bow correctly. How about the tension of the bow. And many more questions. I have my first lesson in early September And of course I am very curious what she will think of my erhu. But whatever she thinks of it, I will have to do with it for the first period of time. If the erhu conquers my heart, I can always start saving for a better one. I find it all super exciting and can hardly wait for the first lesson.

Hi Nikki,
Could I ask where in the Netherland you'll have lessons?

finally had my first erhu lesson. What a relief to get good clear directions from a professional. My tone has already improved and I now know how to hold my bow properly.
And the practice for the coming weeks is, bowing on open strings, nice stable sound, and very long bow strokes.
And this is more than enough
I think it is important that I now focus on the right bowing technique and making a beautiful sound. It's funny to see that you see improvement as quickly as you get lessons.
So for now I am super satisfied and happy.

My teacher speaks only Mandarin which I don't understand.
