Hi, so here and here are two xiaos between which I am deciding. Could you please help me pick one? I don't know if just one section is good or not but both looks great. Also please give me some explanation on how you go about deciding so I would know for a future reference. P.S. this is the third one ( here) in case any of that are not good or something. Thanks very much!

Hi, do take a look at older posts in this forum. There are suggested places for buying a first Xiao and tips on what to look for.
Based purely on price, the ones you picked are usually beginner instruments. And they can be ok for learning the basics. If you have a teacher then seek his/her advice first. A teacher may be able to recommend sources for buying.
Single piece bamboo and sectioned versions are both ok options. Usually single piece is more economical to make and is priced lower. The difference for a beginner is not significant as I own both types as a beginner 2 years ago. If you take regular lessons you’ll know when you need to upgrade to a better Xiao. I gave away my beginner instrument to friends after that. Can also sell them away to fund the upgrade later.

Maybe in my position there were something different and one was clearly better, you know. I was considering a loooot of factors but I have decided on the 2 section one because of looks, and the fact that it's tunable. Also the one I bought had an audio sample and so it was better candidate. I don't have a teacher, I am self-learner and my main reason to buy a xiao is to have a rounded collection of instruments from around the world on which I can improve and learn different techniques of playing and get better. I am a casual player so that's why I choose the ones you see. My main concerns were the fragility of one section xiao and on two section xiao the blowing hole because I read on this forum that the bigger the hole the better the sound at higher octaves but we will see. Anyway, thanks for the answer!
