I have seen this chart somewhere but can't seem to find it when I need it.
I am looking to determine the dimensions of the various holes in the construction of the various key Dizi.
The inside diameter, the finger-hole spacing and the tone holes.
I purchased a Bb recently and noticed that the finger holes are much further apart than my C key. Or my D key.
I am wondering if inner diameter has an affect on the finger hole spacing?

Bump. I would like to get some numbers also. I'm trying to decide on a Dizi in Bb (bass) or a C. I have no experience with the Dizi but I do play both, the irish whistle down to low C and the flute in D, without finger reach problems.

The lowest I can recall for a dizi is xindi F, which has the lowest note of C. I have a xindi G, which has the low note of D, the same as the D Irish flute or low D whistle. Someone might make a Eb dizi (low note Bb), but that is a rare key. I do not have a reference for hole size and spacing for dizi flutes, but there is likely to be something for six-hole flutes in general.
Irish flutes and some whistles have a tapered bore, which allows the finger holes to be closer together, compared with cylindrical bores such as on dizi flutes. You may find the finger stretch on a low dizi to be more of a challenge, although piper technique works if necessary.
Best wishes,
David

Thanks for the response, David. I would dearly love to be able to play a bass G or F but nerve damage in my right hand prevents the use of my little finger. So 7 hole flutes are out.
It is my understanding that most low Bb and A Dizi are made with 6 finger holes. Theoretically those should not be a problem for me but, as you say, bore size and taper, and the fact that Dizi are made with a uniform tone hole size, changes things compared to what I'm used to.
Finding dimensional references has been a challenge.
