Hi!!! My first post. Anyways, just received my new nicoshine dizi from Amazon. Anticipating for it a long time ago! Finally came . The key is C. Started playing it and it was great although the lower sounds aren’t very well produced. So my annoying younger siblings came and took it, blowing on it extremely hard to the point it squeaks with loud noise while I was downstairs. This left me wondering, will the dizi break or have any problems with sound long term? Also, how do I clean the bamboo flute? With hot or warm water? I know this sounds silly, but I’m so worried that it would have problems with sound or other issues because THIS IS MY FIRST DIZI! To make the matters worse, I absolutely hated it when people blow onto my instrument, and it just makes me feel disgusted. Ps. The dizi sounds fine afterwards, but just a bit airy? Or am I too paranoid. Lol

Blowing hard won’t break it. Guess you know the dizi has a membrane, called dimo, that is replaceable. Don’t ever wash bamboo instruments, keep it dry at all times as sudden change in temperatures (warm to cold) can cause cracks.

A nice long brush is handy for getting some of the moisture out after you are finished playing. Sometimes I use a small stick with some cloth on it.
Now, I am not sure if this is the best way but I did hear that you should try and dry them on the inside after playing.
