Most of us use a qianjin wound from thread. It is easy to find instructions on how to do this on YouTube.

The Chinese characters is probably a brand name. Hangong are the first 2 characters. The last 2 are Yueqi which means musical instruments.

Thanks and yes I tried Taobao and found it then ordered it then the order got all messed up.. so cancelled it and back to square one.. I know how to try qianjin no prob.. Easy... Just thought I would get maybe a different timbre out of it. I always like experiment.. Kind of like a guitar and changing gauges of strings and pickups etc..
Had cheap erhu I picked up off of ebay. It plays, has real python skin. Mess around fixed a few things and plays not bad. I put erquan strings on it tuned down t G/D and having a ball. Different sound different feel.
Just something to do. Thanks for the help tho..
