I'm interested in playing the jinghu for fun and I'm not sure what kind to get. I have experience on playing the erhu for a few years. On the other hand, where is a good place to buy one... Thanks, David

Welcome to our forum, David. My usual go-to for Chinese instruments and supplies is Eason Music. They don't list a jinghu, but may have stock not posted online. I have occasionally ordered from www.redmusicshop.com with good results, and they list several models of jinghu from $35 to $200. They list the same models on Ebay. Best wishes, David Dahl

I agree with Dave D -- Eason does have the [xipi] jinghu with synthetic skin. Rule of thumb with jinghus is to buy the most expensive you can afford - they are temperamental little and good one take a lot of craftmanship. BTW, you can still play erhuang songs on a xipi jinghu (I do) by moving the nut up the stick a whole note step. Xipi songs are generally in F and erhuang in G. Search my name as I have posts on jinghu training that I use and should be helpful to you.
Regards,
paul...
