Ok so I think I figured it out . . . please correct me if I am wrong . . .
You press lightly where the note would usually be to get these harmonics, I think. Does anyone know what this type of harmonic is called?

I've encountered harmonics with my classical guitar lessons and I either haven't yet encountered them with my erhu lessons or haven't understood my teacher. There is a huge language barrier.

Those are natural harmonics and yeah you press lightly instead of the normal pressure.
