Grace notes, mordents and trills
How does one play grace notes, mordents and trills on the ErHu?
I have seen on Violin sites that they are normally played in a single bow, ie slurred, and a grace note which precedes a main note is played before the beat, with the main note itself falling on the beat proper.
Is this the same in Chinese music for the ErHu? I should be grateful for information as I don't speak Chinese and so can't access much of the information available.
Many thanks for all replies.

Ornamentation on Chinese music varies a lot, and depends on the style. Western ornamentation may apply to contemporary Western-hybrids, but traditional music has a very different flavor. I tend to pick up the ornamentation from my teacher and recordings. When learning a tune, I listen to how my teacher play, and then search for other recordings.
Best wishes,
David
