Hey, greetings from germany I read a lot of stuff here and now know that buying a qin from ebay is a bad choice. If i read correctly Sound of Cina and redmusicshop are good sellers.
Later this year I will travel to china and want to know beforhand if i need to get another flight wich makes it possible to bring a qin from china. So I want to play around with a cheaper but funktional one. The sound doesnt need to be nice but it should be playable. redmusicshop has some cheap ones for around 150-300$. Can some of you tell me if they are usable? I only need them for playing around a bit.
I already tried to build one myself but until now i couldn fix the top buzzes (string 1 sounds nice already).
I hope you can help me with some tips.

I have heard that it is possible to get a reasonably well playing guqin from Sound of China, but that is likely to be one chosen by a good player. It's hard to know what you would wind up with if you just get whatever instrument is next on the pile. I suggest hooking up with the guqin community on Facebook. You will get more knowledgeable responses there.
Best wishes,
David
