Hello everyone!
I am very new to the instrument of the guqin, but as I'm listening to its music, I'm wondering why I can't enjoy the sound of a player sliding on the strings. Players create a screech almost, and I feel overall that noise takes away from the otherwise beauty of the guqin.
So, if you can help me understand, it'd be greeaaaat!
Thank

All the sounds made on the guqin while playing a tune are part of the music. I suppose it is like the fret noises on an acoustic guitar. If they are gone, then the music is somehow more sterile. You might post your question on the more active guqin group on Facebook. Maybe someone there can help you with a more useful answer.
Best wishes,
David
