I purchased this Pipa at a shop in Beijing a few weeks ago. The owner told me it was made at a factory in the city. I believe the name is written on the photo. I am not a pipa player but I have been playing oud for sometime and I can tell more or the quality of an instrument. I am very pleased with the sound and set up of this one. I also got a very good price. It doesn't have the traditional toppiece but a kind of carved fleur de lis. I would be curious if anyone knows anything about it. Thanks, Paul Attachments:

Welcome to the forum, Paul, and congratulations on your pipa. I am afraid that I can't tell you anything about your pipa. I like the design of the head though. The Chinese characters on the back of the head are likely to be a poem. At least, this is typical of Chinese instruments. Hopefully, someone on the forum can make sense of them for you. Usually the manufacturer's name is indicated with a sticker or tag.
Have fun with your pipa,
Best wishes,
David
