Hi all, here's sharing information about an upcoming guqin exhibition in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia. The exhibition will be open from May 19 to June 2. These are the event pages: www.facebook.com/RhythmOfNanyangGuqinExhibitionwww.facebook.com/events/524001397651865/In addition to the main exhibition, there will be special events/seminars on various cultural topics, ranging from guqin to tea culture. The dates and topics for these are: May 19, 11am~12pm "Ritual Music"-- opening ceremony. The rites of China. Guqin performance by Huang De-Xing. ( <礼乐>开幕礼 ~ 华夏三献礼/古琴演奏黄德欣老师 ) May 19, 2pm~4pm "On Tea and Enviromental Conservation" -- a talk by Xiao Hui-Juan from the Purple Cane Tea Art Center ( 《茶香处处话环保》紫藤萧慧娟主讲 ) May 26, 2pm~4pm "The Joys of the Five Sounds"- guqin seminar and performance by Professor Qiu Zhi-An" ( 《五音琴韵的情趣说》邱治安教授演绎 ) June 2, 2pm~4pm "On Rites and Robes: Revitalizing Chinese Culture" - talk by Jiang Zhi-Fa ( 《衣冠礼乐。复兴华夏》江志發主讲 ) The exhibition and events are all free and open to the public. Apparently there is also talk about holding a yaji in conjunction with this event, since there will be many guqin players in town for this. I have not seen concrete details yet, but will post an update if/when I do. This event happens to start the day after I get home to Kuala Lumpur. I am overjoyed!

That's very cool! We have one guqin player in town, and two weekends ago had a yaji with players of other Asian zithers. It is a lot of fun to share the music with others of a like mind. Have fun!
