There is going to be an erhu event at SOAS, Uni of London this Friday at 7pm; 25th Nov 2011.
School of Oriental and African Studies, University of London Thornhaugh Street, Russell Square, London WC1H 0XG
The room is G2, it's on the left straight after the main doors, you don't need to sign in as you would need to go inside the building.
I heard about it about from someone so I'm not sure about all the details. It's apparently held by an erhu teacher at the Royal Academy of Music. There'll be some people playing the erhu, possibly anyone can join in and play a piece, and it'll also an opportunity to meet erhu players and learners.
And it's free! I'm not sure if it's 7pm or 7.30pm.

that's interesting. But I'm such a raw beginner. It is like some kind of tutorial? Do we bring our own erhus?

I really don't know what's going to happen.
It might be a concert, except they don't expect many people to turn up. Or it might be an opportunity for his students to play in "public".
Anyhow you can certainly go to just watch and listen.
However I'm sure there won't be any teaching, but I could be wrong!

I hope no one went, but apologies to anyone who did. It was at 6pm and in a different room but I didn't know. Sorry.

Phew I'm glad you didn't go!
I did go but I was in the building for something else a bit earlier, so I only found out about the different time and place just before it started.

Well, we'll probably bump into each other at the next Beijing opera do. Are you a lecturer at SOAS?
