Hi syburn - thanks for that. I just went on the NAGA website but couldn't find the syllabus...? Are you thinking of the University of Toronto website where there is a syllabus? Or maybe I just didn't know where to look on the NAGA website (for e.g., does one have to become a NAGA member in order to access that syllabus? Maybe it's located in the forum which is restricted to NAGA members...?)

OK - I've just found a link titled "A list of pieces approved for the Guqin Certification Program" on the NAGA website, and the PDF document contains a guqin certification program with NAGA-approved pieces listed under 10 levels. Is this it, syburn?

Dai Xiaolian on her French release; Wu Wenguang on ROI; Gong Yi...a little harder to find, and only with goofy ensemble arrangement.
WWG, as usual, is mind-blowing. "WTFFFFFF is he DOING with that thing?!"

Oh that ROI recording is so bad, the acoustics put me off so much I was convinced that I have a bad china copy. It has a blue cover with a picture of an old man - is that right.
On SRC the mic seems to pick up some interferance.

WWG's SRC i quite like his inteparation (see the rhythm in qin music thread for further comments). GY's "drunken version" of JK is on his blue CD (Jiuwu Guojia Zhongdian Yinzhang Chuban Guihua's "Zhongguo Minyue Dashi Xilie". Trying to find it on Joyo... Here it is: www.joyo.com/detail/product.asp?prodid=zjmu250891&ref=SR&uid=w5ssniud5uu7gq9sa7s777ssgOut of stock unfortunately. I got it from him at the summer school. There's another CD I got by him called "Guo Yun" (CMSP release) which I heard is rare since it is given to diplomats or something like that...

Im surpised the GY does not have one of the HUGO cds featuring him. But if Hugo has stopped producing then its too late......

GY may not have a HUGO CD, but he's got more than anybody else. At least 15 distinct solo albums, with lots of re-editions. I guess that's what comes from being the qin soloist of the country's most prestigious minyue ensemble. Most of these CDs feature him as the soloist *of the Shanghai minyue ensemble* not, as a pure solo artist.

Oh i have seen those CDs where he plays with the shanghai tradional orchestra. I never bothered with them as i have loads of pure ensemble CDs.
He ought to be part of something like HUGO as its such a big collection of famous players - but they are not keeping up with the times it seems
