Hi, I need to ship my guzheng overseas with a logisitc company. What is the best way to protect, wrap or box it before I send it off to the cargo and is there any special instructions I need to give the company? Thank you for you advice , Diana

Hi Diana and welcome. As I understand it courier companies are reluctant to reimburse for damages citing "inadequate packaging". Therefore some companies such as DHL offer a packaging service where all you do is have to turn up with your instrument and they do the rest.
This is certainly true for guitars but am not sure for guzhengs. Best phone them up first.
Best of luck. Ed

Welcome to the forum, Diana. My guzheng was shipped to me with the bridges removed, well-padded in a large box. You might contact Carol Chang at Sound of China for advice. I am sure that she is very experienced at packaging and shipping guzhengs.
Best wishes,
David Dahl
