Dear all, I am new to this forum and Chinese music. I am a pianist, I play mostly Jazz and electronic new age. youtu.be/QzIgRbD_kYYI wanted to have a similar wooden flute that Kitaro is using in this video, but I can't seem to find any Chinese/Japanese flute similar to it. He will look for me but it will cost about $500 a) I showed this video to a Chinese music master, he told me this is actually a custom-made wooden recorder, with a recorder mouth piece so its easier to play than Di Zi. (I tried playing Di ZI and Xiao...ended up with failure) b) I tried to figure the key out, is the flute/recorder made in 'B' key? Can anyone direct me where to buy a similar flute/ recorder?

It looks to me like a Native American flute. In fact, if you do a web search using the keywords "Kitaro" and "Native American flute," you get a lot of web hits on this subject.

Hi尺八,
Thank you for the help. It certainly helps a lot than "$500". As per advised, I searched the internet and indeed you have pointed me in the right direction, I have placed an order for an affordable Navajo flute off ebay to start off first.
Thank you, once again.
Cheers Musicwerks

I tired matching the notes on the piano, I seems to be key of B.
