hello all i am not sure if these questions would make sense but better ask experts here rather than assume
1. I am currently in a unit where A/C is on almost everynight and my guzheng is there too.. is it bad for guzheng to be in AirConditioned room?
2. the guzheng compartment (where those tuning pegs are housed), is it also designed and also advisable to put accesories and other stuff there like tuning wrench, nails, tuner? Yes i know if we play i should remove those since it will make some sound.
3. I bought a guzheng cover (to be recieved tomorrow from the mail). Which is better keep the guzheng in a gigbag or let it be in open?
4. is guzheng ok to be tuned pentatonic now then next time diatonic and back (given we observe pentatonic and diatonic strings too).
5. Lastly, which is better A type stands or the 3- piece H stand?
thanks a lot..
Feeling determined,

1. Extremely low humidity is probably not good for a guzheng, but large variations in humidity and temperature is worse. Maybe someone will have suggestions about a healthy range, but probably if you can keep it in a room that is comfortable to you and doesn't change much, that will be okay. Of course, keep the guzheng away from direct sunlight and heating and cooling vents.
2. Put whatever you want in the compartment. I keep the tuning lever and other supplies in the compartment, and don't notice any problems. If something buzzes, move or remove it.
3. I only put my guzheng in the gig bag when I am going to drive it somewhere. When I am not playing guzheng, it is on its end leaned against a bookshelf. Keeping it in the gig bag or under a cloth will protect it somewhat from dust and minor bumps, so that is probably better.
4. The more dramatic tuning changes you make, the less stable the tuning will be. I think it is better to choose a tuning system and stick with it. If you want both pentatonic and diatonic tuning, get two guzhengs.
5. The two piece stands is more convenient if you don't have room to leave the guzheng set up for playing. I use the two piece stands since I need to put away the guzheng when I am not actually playing it. If you have the room to leave the guzheng out, the thee piece stand looks better and is more stable. The three piece stand does not come apart as quickly though.
Best wishes,
David
