I might be mistaken, but I thought Cardiff was a town in Wales, UK... quite a bit away from your shop...

Like many American place names, the first settlers were fond of home and called name places after their Great Britain homes.
Never been to Cardiff by Sea in San Diego. I bet the weather is better than our UK version :/

LOL, I once had two customers came in and told me they were from London. I was thinking is there a London, California? Or maybe they are from the neighboring states, London, Arizona or London, Nevada. Then I figured the accent sounds British, and I realized that they are from the LONDON!

I had a look on Carol's website and I must say ... she has an amazing collection of guzhengs  You would get a better from by ordering from Carol's site and posting to Cardiff. Otherwise, if you really wish to buy in the UK, be prepared to pay more, for less. But I suppose the Yuan has appreciated around 20% in the past year alone, so things even out... Ray Man's is the only popular specialist with a shop front: www.camdenguide.co.uk/news/ray.htmThis news link gives more info about his shop than his shop. It makes his shop look worthwhile supporting. But that's in London ...how much does a train ticket (return) cost from Cardiff to London? About the same price as London - Paris or thereabouts....? And then you would have to cart it across the underground..fight with all the rude passengers, and then work out how to get it to Cardiff. If you were in London, you could probably enquire from the Chinese Welfare Association on Gerrard Street where they run music classes. Since you're in Wales, it might be easier to take up the banjo which is all the rage there: Admittedly, a guzheng would be cool ... only if you plan on staying in Cardiff! Good luck

The cheapest Cardiff to London by coach price I've found is only £11 return! But then there is the problem of getting to and from the shop and the coach station. Apart from Ray Man, the only UK shop that I know of that sells guzhengs is Hobgoblin Music. www.hobgoblin.com/local/GR3622_p_Atlas-21-String-Gu-Zheng-page.htmThey have 4 in their 9 shops at the moment; I know they have one in the London shop. I'm only mentioning them for information, it's not a recommendation!

Welcome to the forum, Anmol. You are the first member I can remember from India, so I don't know if we will be of much help to you finding a guzheng locally. You are already a lot closer to China than most of us, Maybe purchasing from a Chinese vendor might be not so difficult. Of course, a guzheng is a bulky thing to ship, so there will be some expense. I have no idea if there is a Chinese community in your area of India. Sometimes there are cultural organizations which can provide connections to Chinese musicians.
Good luck!
Best wishes,
David
